How It All Began: A Grocery Store Moment of Inspiration
The story of ElderConnect+ began in the aisles of a small grocery store in Glasgow, Scotland. Our founder, Pradeep Dahiya, was a part-time employee while pursuing his Master’s in Advanced Software Engineering. Day after day, he encountered elderly customers struggling with not just their groceries but with feelings of isolation and loneliness.
"I noticed that many elderly customers were coming in more for a conversation than for their groceries. It wasn’t just the weight of their shopping bags they were carrying—it was the weight of isolation," recalls Pradeep.
It was this realization that sparked a powerful idea: What if technology could be used not just to assist with daily tasks but to foster human connection? And so, ElderConnect+ was born—a solution that combines essential services with the companionship and support seniors need to lead independent, fulfilling lives.
